Why is this product in old packaging?

We source our Organic Black Soap from a woman owned business in Ghana. She produces high quality, raw soap, made by the women in her town. Since its hand made in Ghana, manufacturing and shipping times are long. We are currently waiting for our shipment to arrive. We estimate the product being in new packaging by Jan-Feb of 2025. However, the Organic Black Soap Wash in the older packaging is still the high quality product that you love and was freshly made this year!

Has the new formula changed from the old?

Yes, we have slightly enhanced our formulation to make it better. Here’s the changes that were made:

- Infused with the HydroSOOTHE complex to balance the scalp and provide essential nutrients to the hair follicles. The complex also contains niacinamide to support a damaged scalp moisture barrier can help reduce water loss, in turn promoting both a nourished scalp and hydrated strands.

- Included sarcosine, a metabolite of glycine, an important amino acid that plays a role in collagen production which has benefits to the scalp and hair structure.

- Added ingredients to slightly lower the pH of the soap wash to a healthy hair range-A a preservative system to a more natural one that is sourced from the Netherlands (strict European Union standards).

Is this wash more clarifying or moisturizing?

We label this shampoo as a clarifying shampoo because of how clean your hair and scalp gets, however unlike many clarifying shampoos, this shampoo thoroughly cleanses your hair without stripping and leaving hair dry. You can actually gently detangle your hair with this wash!

I have dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis of the scalp- can I use this product?

Absolutely! This product was clinically shown to lower the itchiness, flaking, irritation and dryness of the scalp by 87% in 4 uses. We highly recommend following up with our deep conditioning masque (length retention line).

How often should I use this product?

It's gentle enough to use once every week.

Can I use this on my child?

We highly recommend that you use this on children who can properly close their eyes.
